India. A secular democratic country with its national animal as the Tiger signifying itself as the largest Democracy in the world.
And in reality, a country who wouldn’t be able to get rid of its political correctness even if Amitabh Bachchan would’ve somehow convinced all parents to get their children the two doses of polio. But that’s not happening soon because most rural areas can’t see or hear his plea anyway.
So we were at India’s political correctness. Now this has been the case since India’s ‘freedom’. From Jawaharlal Nehru to Rajiv Gandhi to today’s cosmetic politicians, all have been infected by a politically correct virus. From Tibet to Taslima Nasreen, India’s stances have just been contradicting its secular and democratic image.
Starting with the negligible response to the physical attack on Taslima Nasreen which was even backed by some members of this country’s legislature, continuing with delayed VISA and finally putting her confined in a house like a prisoner, India has done nothing more than what Pakistan would’ve done. It’s no wonder that Taslima ji finally found shelter in a country who is populated with Atheists. Bowing down to Islamic fundamentalism is not what ’secularity’ would rather bring to anyone. Gift-wrapping the country to the unorganized leaders of an organized religion with half it’s followers not knowing half the religion would’ve undeniably been a better option, isn’t it? But then that’s not what ’secularity’ brings, I guess. If not thoroughly disgusting, this is thoroughly shameful to say the least … and thoroughly chicken.
Now we all know that for the Chinese government, ‘no news’ has always been ‘good news’ and no wonder they’re so dumbstruck about the Tibetan uprising getting so much of International media coverage. India’s response to this uprising, “We are distressed by reports of the unsettled situation and violence in Lhasa, and by the deaths of innocent people. We would hope that all those involved will work to improve the situation and remove the causes of such trouble in Tibet, which is an autonomous region of China, through dialogue and non-violent means.” is obviously, a very inadequate response but the actions taken by our Government after this … were definitely not. More than 100 protesters have been arrested so far and there is obvious ly some Police interference after the above statement. And I am completely awestruck that our Democracy was actually supporting China. Now I know it’s hard to make up minds when at one hand there is the Beijing rule and on the other, there is the Dalai Lama, a religious leader. But it’s very obvious who should India be actually supporting and if not that, atleast the protesters should be given their right to freedom of expression and demands of certain rights. But then again, I guess India is a Democracy only on paper. It’s downright disgusting that kids are still taught this in school.
Moral of the story? Take everything your textbooks taught you. And throw it to the dogs.

The Talisma Nasreen case is just a twisted attempt by UPA government to get the Muslim Votebank
Another example of the pathetic move is when the former President Dr.Kalam himself crippled under UPA pressure and decided to withhold the sentence to hang Afzal, even though the ultimatum given by the families of dead soldiers gave them went by almost one and a half year back. (anyways its history now)
Brilliancy!

I know what you are trying to say through the post in general, however that is not gonna happen, we the ‘k3wl people of this k3wl country’, won’t do something as’unk3wl’as throwing away our textbooks, they give us ‘education’ >.< .
Obviously you know many people who believe that the textbook is their bible, and like the bible, the textbook lies too, but people don’t care as long as they score good marks in their examination.
I remember reading one of my textbooks, it said and I quote “The textbooks are not practical they are examination oriented”, I flipped the page, and they had an advertisement on how to succeed in examinations by buying ‘xyz’ textbook XD
This post will make people stop for a second and question all that they believe in, good job.

OMG. I completely forgot about Afzal. Like ‘every’one else in our country did. Hmph.
What’s gonna happen now anyway? It’s history, which will obviously repeat itself, what with our ‘woman’ President.

Do you even think that’s gonna happen?

Do you even think that’s gonna happen?
Personally, I don’t.
Although accurate, this is thoroughly inadequate.

I mean, if people wanted to stop by and give their fucking-minds-which-are-now-heading-in-the-wrong-directions a thought, they would have done it ages ago.
Wtf is the use of education if the OBCs get more preference than the deserving students? Wow, after 10 years, we’ll have a doctor who cannot even count. =|
And they complain about Brain Drain.

Yeah, I mean, I don’t mind studying abroad and working there if I have no future in my own country.
Many Gandhians like Nirmala Deshpande are born and then they die, trying to do something good for India their whole lives. I personally despise Gandhi and find Gandhian values bullshit, but, well, still.
Wtf is the use of living your whole life as a social worker, trying to do something good and waiting for things to change if there’s no one to appreciate them?
